importing mail and addresses to mac

Karin

I have switched from windows to mac, and am trying to import my
personal folders and contacts from microsoft outlook 2000 or from
outlook express 5.0 to microsoft entourage x.

In the file>import and export folder of entourage it looks like I can
import from an outlook express identity, however, is this outlook
express for mac, or for windows.

The pstimport program only works for pst folders created in mac.

If I have to import the data via an exchange server, how do I get about
setting one up? (I know how to set up the exchange account in
entourage, that works, but how do I get the personal folders onto the
exchange server, and how to I get them downloaded into entourage?)

I have moved all data with the Move2Mac program, and my contacts are
now filed in the address book. Would there be a possibility to get them
from the address book into entourage?

Thanks for the help in advance,

The Mac version.

Right, specifically in Outlook 2001 for Mac.

I don't know. This is a question better suited for the Outlook group. Try
creating folders on the Exchange Server like your personal folders, and then
copy all of the messages into them. Then, if your Exchange account is set
up in Entourage, you should be able to see those folders you created.

Here's another option for transferring mail:
This page has a pretty clear tutorial for moving mail from Outlook to
Entourage.
<http://www.riches.com.au/articles/export-outlook-entourage.htm>

Outlook2Mac advertises that it can automate the same procedure. However,
some users have noted that contacts, calendar events, and tasks don't always
transfer properly.
I have moved all data with the Move2Mac program, and my contacts are

from the address book into entourage?

To import contacts from Address Book into Entourage, drag them to the
Desktop, and then drag them into the Entourage Address Book window. Beware
that not all fields will transfer correctly using this method. For a
transfer that preserves more information, use Paul Berkowitz's "Sync
Entourage-Address Book" script. It is not free, but it does include a free
trial period.

Or, use e2Sync. It is not free, but it does include a free trial period.

You can also try this:

Export-Import Entourage

Export-Import Entourage (shareware) 50 scripts to export and import almost
everything Contacts, Groups, Calendar Events, Tasks, Notes, Messages,
Folders, Accounts, Signatures, Mailing Lists and Categories from one
identity of Entourage X or 2001 to any other, and to transfer Contacts,
Calendar, Tasks and Notes to and from other PIM programs on the Mac and
Windows, with special converters for Microsoft Outlook, Excel and other
programs.

You can import/export between all versions of Entourage, Outlook, Palm
Desktop and other PIMs.

The scripts enable archiving, restoration, and data synching or
transporting. Some operations are not possible for all types of data, and
some are not possible to or from programs that do not support the functions
required. The Outlook and Other Converters transfer contacts, calendar,
tasks and notes there are instructions for transferring messages without
scripts in the ReadMe. The current scripts work only with English language
and Western European versions of Entourage.

Export-Import Entourage is shareware. You can find these scripts here:
