I am trying to replace an enterprise custom field (text) that has no set
values with a value list, but I want the values to come from an import (they
will be charge numbers for tasks that schedule builders will have to select)
rather than typing them one by one into the custom field. We are obviously
using Project Server, so I was trying to import the value list to the
enterprise global to allow these new values to 'refresh' for individual
schedule builders. This seems like a natural application of the import value
list, but I am finding that when I select the field (i.e.: text 1) in the 'to
be imported from' project, I receive no imported values. Similarly, if I add
the values to the global directly in a field (i.e.text 1), the import does
not work.
I have a feeling this is not a failing in Project, but a failing in my
understanding of what can be done with imported fields. Taking all
suggestions. Thanks in advance.
