Impoting an Excel file into Entourage Calender

Hi all
I recently made the switch, so please be gentle!
I have an iMac G5 2GHz; 1GB RAM; 250GB HDD, Mac OS 10.4.2(Tiger) with
Microsoft Entourage 2004 for Mac Version 11.1.0 (040903).
I am only a home user, but used to use MS Office(PC) to operate my
mail, contacts and calender. I work in the travel industry and my work

schedule is published about 10 days in advance of the beginning of the
month. I receive an excel file(.xls) that I could import into MS
Office, choose the destination folder, namely Calender, and my work
schedule was automatically inserted into the appropriate days,
including many details. all of this worked seamlessly in the PC
environment, and took all of about a minute to complete.

I seem unable to import and excel file into Entourage, and when I tried

it as a .csv file, it attem[ted to add the detailed entries as contact
details into the address book.

Any one with a possible solution please?
