improved time table plan

How do you reformat the colors in the cells that represent the time period.
they are currently in purple. i cannot find any formatting option to change
and/or create new if i add new lines.

how does the autofill work on this sheet? I want to add another timetable
directly below this one, identical information except the dates to be
different, however, the autofill isn't working. Do you have to mark the
cells some how?
I'm using excel 2007
