in power point the codec or both codecs are are not functioning.

The video on the power point direction page cannot be seen. I checked with
the trouble shooter and did exactly what the page directed and it still does
not work. I need some information on why it does not work? The codec or
codecs both need to work to show th video and sound at the same time. Why
does it not work?

Do you mean when you insert a movie, it does not play (showing a black box)?
Test using the MCI Media Player. To do so click Start, click Run, and in the
command line type "mplayer.exe" (or "mplay32.exe" for Win2000 or XP) and
click OK.
Play your movie in MCI media player. Does it work?
If it does, try shortening the path length. Create a folder in C: Drive.
Then, move the ppt and movie to that folder. Re-insert the movie again and
see if it works this time.
