Inbound Mail Folder - Weird routing

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

Email Client: pop

This is real mystery... have been running above for over a year. 95% of my incoming mail arrives in my DELETED folder, 5% into my INBOX. Mail from same sender can arrive in both. I'm living with it and using DELETED as the operative folder, but curious if anyone has a clue why this is happening?

PS...If I "Delete" from the DELETED folder it goes away...but where....?

Do you have any rules set? (Tools/Rules). Sometimes rules do weird things. I
suggest deleting them if you have them.

And who knows where the email goes when you delete the deleted?
