inbox mail showing mails double

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Power PC
Email Client: pop

hi....have updated...all etc info was autmatically transfered to the new office 2008 (I presume) ....now when mail is being sent to my inbox on Entourage...(used as default)I am receiving a double or Duplicate email of every email that I recieve in my inbox...any ideas..have I missed something in the setup which has not changed as far as I know...thanks

Do you keep a lot of mail "on the server?" I didn't see any duplicates
myself and there haven't been reports from other users. Servers are
notorious for sending dups. If you rebuild your database for example, this
change in Entourage will cause all mail left on the server to download
again. Usually, it's just server error.

To get rid of duplicates use one of the scripts to remove duplicates.

I have the same problem in Entourage:mac 2004. It is sporadic but often enough to aggravate.

My email is Roadrunner (my cable company) and it pulls from their server. I have no control over how long they stay on the server (I've already tried that route) but why would an email program pull a duplicate? It didn't happen in Mail.
