What version of Outlook?
Have you checked your view settings on the inbox to make sure you aren't
filtering stuff out of the view?

In what folder does the search function say the mail is?

It is the indox can't be shown on the view of Outlook XP.

It is the indox can't be shown on the view of Outlook XP.
If it's in the Inbox, then you may have changed your view or have sorted by
a criterion other than Received. Select your Inbox, then check View>Arrange
By>Current View>Messages. Also, click the "Received" title.
