Inbox shows new messages but not viewable

I have a user who is recieving emails and shows new messages in the
folder list pane (INBOX [7]), but cannot view the messages in the
inbox pane. Basically they are not appearing in the inbox pane. Any
ideas on how to correct this. They are sorted by newest on top. This
user is getting messages from an Exchange server. Other mac users are
fine. Please help..
