incoming mail goes to deleted items

Entourage 2k4 connecting to Exchange server 2K3. For one user local mail
will go to deleted items instead of to Inbox.

why?

Wold you by any chance have a rule that *moves* incoming mail to another
mailbox (possibly in the "on my computer" mailboxes) ???

When a mail from exchange is moved to another location, it is actually
first copied to the destination, then deleted (placed in the trash) from
the exchange folder where it resides.

there's no rule set up. The only thing different about this machine from
about 10 others is that there was a previous user and account set up on it.

I'm wondering if I need to delete the account and main identity etc. to fix.

I checked Outlook Web access and there are no rules routing mail to "deleted
items". Also, all messages in OWA appear in inbox so it must be an
entourage issue.

Any other quick and easy ideas? Would the best solution be to uninstall
office and reinstall?

I'd try repairing permissions and maybe trahing some of the prefs first.
It could be a corrupted pref that generates this problem. Of course, you
can also rebuild the database (it can't hurt),
