Incomplete Import of Entourage X data-->Entourage 2004

This is elaboration of my MUD file post from earlier.

I have created a new identity in 2004, imported my Entourage X MUD, and
have most (if not all) settings, but only message from 2002 and
earlier.

When I open backed up Entourage X (which lives on a different drive), I
see all messages, so I know the data still exists.

How can a bring all messages into 2004? And just for my information,
why didn't that happen when I imported my Entourage X MUD?

thanks

Open the Entourage X identity in Entourage X. Drag folders to the Desktop
to save them as MBOX files. Drag those into the Entourage 2004 Folder List
to import them.
And just for my information,
why didn't that happen when I imported my Entourage X MUD?

One possibility is that Entourage X is looking for your data in a different
location. Remember that Entourage X will always look in /Users/<Your
User>/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office X Identities/<Your Identity>/.

If you're sure that Entourage X is opening the same identity you tried to
import, it's possible that the Entourage X database is corrupt. Here's what
you can do to test that theory (after you have set up Entourage 2004):

First, open Entourage X holding down the Option key. When the "Rebuild"
dialog appears, choose to do a Typical Rebuild (if it doesn't work, you
might want to try an Advanced Rebuild, though be warned that will delete
links and cached messages from news & IMAP servers). Then, open Entourage
2004, go to File > Switch Identity, and create a new identity. Try
importing from your Entourage X identity again. If it works now, that means
that the database had corruption that kept Entourage 2004 from reading it
properly.
