incomplete shadow fill

ok, this has bothered me for a long time.

when insert a graphic, and place a line around it, very
often the line around the perimeter doesnt hit the edges
all around.

then, when i try to apply a shadow effect, there is
a "gap" in the shadow fill. it isnt a solid fill. i cant
find any reason for it.

clues?

How are you creating the line around the graphic? If it isn't a closed
object, a shadow applied to it won't be closed either. What type of graphic
is it (file format)? Does it have a transparent background? Where was the
graphic created?

I'm assuming you mean the fossil image. I can replicate that here too.
Remove the line and the problem goes away. If you need the line you can
remove the shadow and line, create a rectangle filled with black, send it to
back, size it to be just a bit larger than the image and then apply the
shadow to the black rectangle rather than the image.

However, with your example you don't even need a black line.

squirrely is right.
ive gotten different results depending on both the line
width around the image, and the depth and placement of
the shadow. also, the problem seems to be ok at some
magnifications, and not others, and the same exact
settings seem to react differently, from picture to
picture. sometimes it'll be ok in the slideshow mode. but
sometimes the shadow still appears in the show exactly
how it appears in the edit view...with a "slice" out of
it.

ie, it's largely present, but intermittent enough to be a
pain in the butt. i'll keep tinkering.
