Incorrect event dates in Entourage

I have a problem with Entourage that prevents me from using the
Calendar. When I create an event, no matter what date I put in, it
automatically changes it to the 1st of the current month. The date
shown in the event window is today's, but the date assigned is always
the 1st. When I save, I get a notice that the date I have given is in
the past, although I can clearly see that it is not. If I save anyway,
I immediately get an overdue notice for the event.

I have seen this problem described before, but not a solution. Does
someone have one? Thank you very much.

That's a new one too!

What country settings are you using in time 7 date prefs? Also, what version
of entourage?

Sorry, I just realized that I hadn't mentioned that it's Entourage 2004
for Mac. Your question about date and time prefs put me on track for a
solution. I normally use the European format for dates: yy/mm/dd. I
switched my system prefs to a more American form: dd/mm/yy, and the
problem is solved. Thanks very much.
