Incorrect unread messages count

I have a small, but annonying bug in Entourage for OS X (I¹m running
10.2.6).

Here¹s the issue: the INBOX folder for two of my IMAP accounts shows an
incorrect number of unread messages in the folder. In both of my accounts I
know that I have read all of the messages (I even selected all the message
and chose ³Mark All as Read²), but the count still shows that there are
still some messages left to be read.

The only way I¹ve been able to get around this is to delete all of my
messages in the INBOX and download them all again ‹ not a great solution.

Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a known workaround?

Replies to this newsgroup with a cc to [email protected] would be appreciated!

Thanks!

This isn¹t really entourage¹s fault its a Œquirk¹ of IMAP. I see the same
effect in entourage & Eudora on the mac as well as OE, Outlook & Eudora on
windows.

1. Try using the command Œrefresh Message List¹ from the view menu (Cmd-L)
2. try using the undocumented Option-Cmd-L shortcut to resynchronise the
entire mailfolder

If it¹s still not solved the problem, try a typical rebuild.

I started to get the same problem recently. The inbox shows one unread
message. I tried rebuilding the database and refreshing the message list
but the dreaded one still stood unmoved. However, resynchronizing the
entire mailfolder did the trick! the offending message showed up and once
opened the unread count went back to normal.

Thanks!
