increased incidence of Entourage Conduit failing

By the way, I cannot seem to go more than one day now without the Entourage
Conduit failing to operate during a Hot Sync operation. The only known
workaround is to Log out as a user (rebooting does not help), and to log
back in. Not infrequently it takes multiple log outs and log-ins before
finally the Conduit relents and syncs properly.
This has been a known issue from day one of the current conduit, right since
its first release. But the increased incidence makes me wonder what might
have changed on my machine to anger the conduit gods. Any advice would be
much appreciated.

Folks, is no one else experiencing this? I do recall this being a known
issue way back. I am having to Log Out before almost every sync. Since I
try to sync at least once a day, you can imagine that this is becoming most
tedious. I changed software from HotSync Manager to the Missing Sync, but
Entourage Conduit¹s behaviour is unchanged.

This is probably bad form, but I thought I would try one last time: has
this major issue disappeared for all Entourage 2004 users but myself? No
one else seems to be complaining anymore about what was (and for me, still
is) a vexing sync issue with Entourage Conduit only. Is there a fix or
workaround? Thank you very much.

This issue foes not exist for most people, Ignat. There's got to be a
special reason in your case. There are a few things you can try to clean up
the Entourage Storage File and the Missing Sync Backup folder but, frankly,
if logging out and in is what fixes it temporarily, it sounds more like you
have something interfering with the sync signal, maybe some haxie or other.
Does the problem happen even when Entourage is closed? If not, also try with
Entourage set to Work Offline when open. But probably none of this will make
any difference. Do you have ways of turning off all haxies you may have?

(The best way to check might be to try from a new OS user. To avoid losing
your data set the conduit to Handheld Overwrites Entourage in the new
identity/new OS user. You might need to confirm or change the Entourage
Identity in the Entourage Conduit in Missing Sync.)

Or if you want to check whether fixing the Entourage Storage File might
help, go to ~/Documents/Palm/Users/[you]/Entourage Data/ and remove the
Entourage Storage file. In Ent 2004 that file also appears to store all the
conduit settings, so you now need to go into Missing Sync/Entourage Conduit/
and reset all your settings (including "Enable synchronization with these
new handhelds" if appropriate). First time it might be best to do an
Entourage Overwrites Handheld sync. Then try making a few changes and doing
a few regular syncs to see how its going.

If none of this helps, try writing to the Missing Sync for Palm mailing list
- there are some very knowledgeable people there.

Paul, thanks for your advice. I don¹t have any haxies; nor do I believe
it¹s likely to be a ³sync signal² issue, since all my other conduits work
just fine, time and time again. So I really think it¹s something confined
specifically to the Entourage Conduit, which is why I keep asking the
question here (with apologies to all who don¹t find this of interest). I
will try to remove the Storage file, as you suggest, and will report back.
