Indents in tables: how to modify default?

Dear MVPs:

I work with tables a lot and I want to be able to modify the default spaces
between bullets/numbers and the text. But after moving the margin in the
ruler, it slides back if I switch between numbers and bullets.

Normal text boxes can be modified in the master, but can text in tables be
modified?

Am I missing something?
