Indirect help

Cell A1:A12 = Jan:Dec
I need a formula that will return the sum of E1:E4 on sht "Jan Act". i
have tried =INDIRECT("SUM('" & a1 & " ACT'!E1:E4)") but I am gettting a #ref
error. What am I doing wrong?
