Info re Msg download in progress

I have a Schedule that checks for new mail every 10 minutes. A
message is present on the bottom of the screen that reads "Schedule
'Send & Receive All' will run in X minutes." Until recently, when the
scheduled check executed, or when I check mail manually, that same
message area would display the total number of new msgs and the
number of the one being downloaded that instant, so thay you could
track the progress of the downloading of msgs as it occurred. Recently
that latter information stopped appearing, and I can't find where to turn
it back on. Will appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks,
John A.

The information about messages being downloaded is part of the
Progress window. You can turn the Progress window on via the "Windows"
menu.

Adam:

Thanks! That does indeed open a Progress Window with download info.
But what used to happen is that a "progress bar," or whatever it's called,
would appear down in the bottom border of the email window, showning
progress and giving the total number of messages and which one(s) were
being downloaded. That same info is in the Progress window that you've
just shown me how to open, but is there a switch somewhere to make that
info reappear where it used to be, at the bottom of the open email window?

Thanks,
John

I've never seen the behavior you're mentioning. The only text I see --
or ever remember seeing at the bottom of my main window is when the
next schedule will execute.

Progress appears in the Progress window if it is open. If it isn't, an
abbreviated version appears in the bottom of the main window.

Aha. John, what probably happened is that your Progress Window was open all
this time -- but hidden behind your main Entourage window. So you weren't
seeing progress in the main window, because it was trying to display it to
you in the Progress Window.
