Insanely Slow Exchange Connectivity

I am using Entourage X connected to an Exchange Server.
I have a L O N G Lag when ever I select
the various folders I have created on the server through Entourage X.
Why the lag, when I was using Outlook it worked fine and was snappy and
quick.
Accessing the server via Entourage X is painfully slow and needs to be
fixed.

Is there anything I can do to "optimize" my connection?

As far as I remember (I am away from my Mac) Entourage offers two
options: Somthing like "live connection" and another more basic way to
connect (Tools:Accounts:your account).

Try the other option to see if it helps.
