Go to edit - replace
find what : )
replace with: ) [insert a space after ) ]
click on replace all

Method 1:

Enter it as 1234567890
Format/Cells/Special Phone Number
or
Format/Cells/Custom Type: (###) ###-####

Method 2 -- if the data is already entered as Text:

Use a helper column. If your original data starts in row 2, insert the
formula:

=SUBSTITUTE(A2,")",") ")

in some cell in the helper column, and copy/drag the formula down as far as
necessary.
