Insert date adds numeric date

When I insert the date in Word from the menu bar, it adds the numeric date to
the end. For example, when I insert "November 21, 2006", it adds "11-21" to
the end so it comes out: "November 21, 2006 11-21". Is this a virus or do I
just need an sp? I tried checking the auto-correct and auto-text setups and
found nothing.

that is a weird one...

could be that a header has been programmed
into your default document. Or it could
be a visual basic script or something...

have you tried the detect and repair
feature? It is under the help menu option.
