"Insert movie" does not work

I want to insert a movie into the presentation. I use "Insert / Movies
and Sounds / Sound from File", then I chose the file and then NOTHING
happens. Who can help?

I see nothing. And I get no message. PowerPoint version 2000, Windows98. The file
extension is AVI. It comes from a digital-camera.

Do you see an image that represents the first frame of the video? If not, do
you get any message? If not, then you will need to give us more information.
What versions of PowerPoint and Windows are you running? What is the file
extension of the video file? Where did the file come from?

Try renaming the file to give it an extension of MPG. Let us know if that

Great. Your camera is not correctly naming the files that it creates. In the
future when you want to use a video from the camera in PowerPoint just give it
an extension of MPG.
