Insert object problem

I have win media player(8.0) on my laptop. When I try to
insert an object. Windows media player isn't listed as a
type I can insert. Don't know why. Could use some help.

If I understand it correctly, to insert an object, the app has to be capable
of creating objects. Media Player doesn't create anything, it just plays
existing media, no?

If you have an existing media file, you could try Insert, Obect and choose
Create from File

I use PowerPoint 2002 and I have Windows Media Player 9 installed on Windows
2000. When I do insert object or click on the more tools icon I have
choices for Windows Media Player. What version of PowerPoint are you using?

Different versions of PPT, different systems, everything from MediaPlayer
0.0.not.here.gone.nuh.uh to 6.x to 7.x to 8.x No 9.
