Correction: I DID get to the website (after typing in all the address). However, I do not see what I need: an h and a t with a dot under it.

Hi Tom,

The h with dot below is U+1E25 in Unicode, the t with dot below U+1E6D.

If you have a font with the whole necessary subset "Latin Extended
Additional" (such as "Arial Unicode MS"), you can insert the characters
from "Insert > Symbol", or better define keyboard shortcuts in that dialog.

Another option are (plain text) AutoCorrect entries that turn, say, #t.# in
a t with dot below while typing.

In case you have no font with the necessary subset (Arial Unicode MS is
included with Word 2000/2002/2003, but often not installed), you could use
the "combining dot below", U+0323 (from the subset "Combining diacritical
marks").
Inserted after a letter, it should combine with it.
Though this works pretty well with large Unicode fonts like "Arial Unicode
MS" again, but often looks rather terrible with smaller fonts.

Regards,
Klaus

Thanks Klaus. I finally managed to produce the h and t with dot underneath. It took a call to a local computer person, who pointed out that I could find what I wanted by going to the character map in systems, after installing Arial Unicode MS as you suggested. I've created macros for the letters now. I still do not know how to use the Unicode numbers. Following Microsoft's instructions to use the keypad and Alt does not work for me. Danke, Tom
