Insertdatefield - changing format

Alt-Shift-D inserts the date - but in the wrong format (2/12/2004 instead of February 12, 2004). How can I change the format? I know a little bit about date fields but not enough, apparently

If you always want to use this date format in all programs, you can click
the "Start" button, select "Settings", "Control Panel". Double-click the
"Regional Settings.." option (might be slightly different wording depending
on the version of Windows you have). Change it here and it will be changed
for your computer.

Otherwise, instead of using Alt-Shift-D, create a template that has a
CREATEDATE field where you want it formatted the way you want it. Or, create
such a field, save it as an AutoText entry in your normal.dot or other
global template and assign the Alt-Shift-D shortcut to your AutoText entry.
{ CreateDate \@ "MMMM d, yyyy" }

See the MVP FAQ: <URL: http://www.mvps.org/word/> which is awesome!

Open Insert | Date and Time and choose your preferred format. Click the
Default... button. Contrary to expectation, the format you set is *not* the
one that will be highlighted the next time you open that dialog (that honor
belongs to the default you have set in Control Panel | Regional Options),
but it *is* the one that will be inserted when you use Alt+Shift+D.
