Inserting .GIF file into Outlook stationery

I am trying to do something that should be so simple, yet I am getting nowhere with it. I want to create a custom stationery for Outlook emails that has the logo for our company (and than each individual will have his/her own signature). Yet, I can't figure out how to import a .GIF file of our logo into stationery without it being a background, rather than just appearing once at the top-left corner. I tried creating an .htm document that has the logo in it, selecting the "Use this file as a template" option in the Create New Stationery and selecting that as the template in the Create New Stationery dialog box. When I do this, all I get is the little symbol you see when a graphic has been inserted by the graphic file is not avaible (the red box with the X in it).

Can anyone help me out with this? It seems like it should be so simple.

Thanks

Bob Voss
