Inserting Hyperlinks to e-mail text

Jack McDonald

I hope that is is possible to hyperlink text in an Entourage e-mail.

I am aware that e-mail addresses and URL links are created when
sending, but would like to know how to hyperlink text to a URL BEFORE
sending.

Cannot seem to find a way to do this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you mean that you want to have text that when clicked on opens a URL? If
so, check out Paul Berkowitz's "Make Hyperlinks" script. Get the "Entourage
X" version if you use Entourage 2004 or X, or "Entourage 2001" version if
you use Entourage 2001.

In Office 2004 you can also create the message in Word (including the
hyperlinks) and use the Send To Mail Recipient As HTML tool to send the
e-mail through Entourage.

Thanks all for the good info...

It appears that you need to use a script (band-aids for bad software)
ot create the links in Word.

I am amazed that such an important feature cannot be done as part of
the software we purchased.

Also cannot believe that a non e-mail software like WORD has this
feature, but an e-mail software like ENTOURAGE does not....HELLO!!!

Out of curiosity, why do you find it such an important feature? If I want to
send a link, I just put the link in the mail like this:

<http://www.microsoft.com/mac/resources/resources.aspx?pid=asforoffice>

Perhaps it's just me, but if I get messages with 'click this' in a sentence,
I tend to be mistrustful. I¹d much rather see the link I am actually
following. Just my point of view.
