Inserting movies into powerpoint

I have a canon digital camera Powershot A40. When I take
movies with this the file is MVI.AVI with a file format :-
Motion JPEG Open DML, 160 x 120
I can't view this format in powerpoint. How can I convert
this so that I can view my movies in this program?

Your movies need to be WMV (Windows Media Video or file)
Quicktime movies would not work for me. Also, the movies
need to be in the same folder with the powerpoint file in
order for them to work. This includes saving the PPT file
to a PPS (powerpoint show) file. So when burning to a CD
make sure you burn with whole folder with the movie along
side the powerpoint file.
