inserting photo

Using Word 2000, I have drawn a large rectangle, and filled it with a
background colour. I want to insert a photo which has bee cropped to an oval
shape with PhotoStudio, into the rectangle. The area between the ellipse
and the rectangle as defined by the grab handles remains white. How do I get
this area to acquire the background colour of the large rectangle?

Thank you
Ron

Hi Ron,

Use Word's transparency tool (on the picture toolbar) to make the area
around the oval transparent. This works best if the colour you want to make
transparent doesn't appear elsewhere on the image - otherwise those bits
will become transparent also and show the (unwanted) background colour.

Cheers
