inserting signature

When inserting a saved signature Outlook 2002
displays "i>>?" on the line above my signature. *Also not
the question mark is upsidedown. I have tried deleating
and doing new signatures and it does this with all of
them.
What do I need to do to not have "i>>?" appear?
