Inserting signatures

When I attempt to enter a signature, Entourage has suddenly begun to insert
them at the bottom of the message instead of at the cursor position.

Is there a setting which controls this or does anyone have a suggestion as
to how I can 'cure' this?

Many thanks,

Mike Barton

Hey Mike - I am new to Entourage and had this same question. It can be
done. Click on Entourage on the banner menu (very top left of your
screen by the blue apple), click on "preferences", click on "reply &
forward" (towards the bottom left), then under "mail attribution" on
the right, click on the third button where it says "place reply at the
top of message...". That places the signature directly below your
response. Steve

Entourage will attempt to replace the existing signature within a draft
email, where the existing signature can be accurately identified. There is
no way for th euser to change this behaviour.

If, as I suspect, you are using signatures to insert blocks of pre-defined
text while writing emails, take a look at my 'Insert Notes' script,
available from here:
<http://homepage.mac.com/barryw/scripts/scripts.html>

This will allow you to insert one or more blocks of text that are contained
in Entourage Notes of a specific category.

Steve,

Thanks - that seems to work! I am not aware of having changed the setting
and wonder if it was the by-product of an upgrade.

Again, many thanks.

Barry,

Thanks for your response. The suggestion by another responder (Steve) to
"place reply at the top of message..." does appear to work.

However, I use signatures a lot as you have described and I will check out
the 'Insert Notes' script you mention - it sounds like a better solution.
