Installation codes

I bought a desktop computer at a garage sale that came with office 2000. The computer died and I'd like to put the software on my laptop but, alas, I don't have the codes for installing which I didn't think to check for upon purchasing.
How can I get the codes? Who is the person/or department to contact at microsoft?
