Installing Access2000

R

RistoH

Hi. I have a little problem. I hope to get some help from this forum.

We have 2 different installations of Office2000. 1 with and 1 without
Access2000. The install is made with 2 different Transform files from a
Administrative install point. Here is the problem now.. When a Computer has
had the Office2000 without Access and the user wants Access on that computer
the only way so far has been to Uninstall the entire installation and then
reinstall with the MST that has Access in it. It doesn't help to make the
install with a new installatione with the /t "transform with Access.mst" or
any of the options /REINSTALLMODE=vomus or REINSTALL=ALL. I have tried event
with the /INSTALL=ACCESSFiles but nothing. No Access2000 installes on the
computer. Nothing seems to help.. Any ideas?

Hi Risto,

The Custom Installation Wizard transforms (.MST) files work only on new installs. They emulate a user installing from CD.

The Custom Maintenenance Wizard creates .CMW files that emulate a user changing the installed feature set via Add/Remove Programs in
the Windows Control Panel. If doing a manual change with MS Office 2000 Professional Edition, for example, you could change the
status of MS Access 2000 there from 'not available' to 'run from my computer'.

The Office 2000 Custom Maintenance Wizard is available in the Office 2000 Resource Kit (ORK) toolbox (along with an updated setup
program) through http://microsoft.com/office/ork/2000
