Installing Student Office 2003

I absolutely cannot get this software installed on my new
Compaq-Hp with XP Home Edition. I have tried a dozen
times--either NOTHING happens, i.e. the installation
doesn't even come up or--at best--the installation
starts, but stalls somewhere through the process.

It took 7 or 8 tries before I even got to the point where
I needed to put my key # in.

HELP!!
