Installing the latest version of Entourage - scared!

J

I have an old version of Entourage with important correspondence going back to 1999. I run our business on the Mac and back up fairly regularly. Although I have the latest version of MS Office I am terrified of installing the newest version of Entourage in case I should lose all my history including all my groups and calendar with all my appointments and past info. I know the data is on my backup disk but a crash may disassemble the data with serious results as I am not technical enough to cope with such a situation. There are problems developing with the old version and I know I need to upgrade. What should I do?

If you want to really play it safe, back up your Microsoft User Data in your
Documents folder to a separate disk. Then go ahead and install and upgrade.
If you have any problems, it's as simple as restoring the MUD folder.

That said, you probably won't have any problems.
