Intellimouse not Scrolling

One of my users on a Dell LT is unable to scroll in Word using the scroll wheel of the MS Intellimouse, although it works fine in Excel and other programs – but the auto scroll works fine!
(Other Dell LTs work fine and I have swapped mice so it's not that!)
I've looked for settings, switches etc but have found none. Any ideas anyone
