Interchanging the Database

After considerable frustration with syncing among MacBook and MacPro and
..Mac, I thought that I might initially establish identical files on the two
computers by replacing the contents of the MUD folder on the laptop with the
contents of the same folder from the desktop machine. I tried it a few times
but, interestingly, even after quits and restarts, Entourage 2008, when
opened on the laptop, always loaded the original data file even though the
original contents had been dragged to the trash. That is, nothing changed
when I opened the application: same calendar, same email, same contacts.

Is there an obvious reason for this behavior other than operator error?

I suspect that the database daemon was loaded when you tried to replace
one with the other.
Try this: Reboot and launch Entourage. Is it now loading the proper
data??
