Invereted comma prints as Tilde in Arial font. Can I configure i.

I have upgraded to WinXP & Word 2003 (from Win98/Word97). My Logitech
cordless (Dell) keyboard is configured as English UK. When I use Arial or
Times New Roman fonts, an initial " from the keyboard displays as " on
screen but prints as ~. This does not happen with a final " nor in other
fonts (Verdana, Garamond, Lucinda etc.). Nor does it happen with a "
copied from the Character Map nor from Wordpad
Can anyone help? Can I configure Word to avoid this problem?

Found the problem. I've just looked at my printer (Epson laser). It was
substituting the TrueType fonts with its own versions of Arial & Times N R.
It didnt do this for the other fonts I'd been using. I just had to stop the
substitution in the printed control panel.
