There is an e-mail in my "Deleted" folder which I cannot see. How do I know it's there...there is a bold '1' beside the 'Deleted Items' header. How do I get rid of it?

Also, possibly related but probably not, sometimes my Preview Pane (below the list) does not display the content of a message, yet when I double-click the message it opens up correctly. The only way to get things back to normal is the quit and restart Entourage.

Signs of database corruption.

Under File --> Export select the default action export as Entourage archive
(.rge) file. If it fails, this indicates database corruption. This is
quicker than using the Database Utility verify.

How to rebuild:

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/database/rebuild.html>

Make a duplicate in the Finder first as additional backup. A rebuild does
make a duplicate, but sometimes in the process the original and backup get
merged resulting in total disaster. It's rare but it happens.
