Invisible Message in Outbox?

J

Jack Smith

Configuration: Outlook 2003 & XP Pro

Outlook reports it's unable to send a message via one of my accounts.
This part is understandable, as the message is trying to be sent on an
account that does not allow remote SMPT access.

What I want to do is delete the message that is trying to be sent, but
the outbox is empty--it shows no messages to be sent.

(My options are set to always prompt before sending a receipt message
and I did not get a request to respond to a receipt, so I don't
believe it is a normal read receipt message.)

I suspect this is the result of some sort of auto reply embedded in
spam and I would like to delete it instead of seeing the send error
message continuing to be reported every time Outlook tries to
synchronize.

Any ideas?

Will try. It would be nice if I could edit this particular account to
not have an SMPT send function, but Outlook seems to require something
be entered for an SMPT address.
