Hello,

I recently installed a copy of OFFICE XP on my new laptop. The programs run
fine, but they wont let me print. My all in one machine is highlighted but
when i press print nothing seems to be happenning. I was wondering if any one
knows how to resolve this or if the problem is that OFFICE XP isn't
compatible with VISTA.

Hi JoAnn,

The all in one machine i have is a Brother MFC640CW which became compatible
with vista once the vista driver was downloaded & installed. I can print
from, explorer without any problems. I had also tested Excel from Office XP
last night and i could print perfectly fine. But Word wouldn't let me print.

I have also re-installed office but this made no difference. Please help!

Did you check to see if your printer is Vista compatible? It's not an Office
XP issue and it will work.

When i press print in word or Powerpoint sometimes the cartridge indicator
flashes up showing all the cartridges are full and other times nothing comes
up. No printouts are obtained, no grey message box appears stating "printing".

Hello,

Today I have been in touch with the manufacturer of my all in one printer -
BROTHER and after further investigation they have found out that the problem
lies with my "print spooler" on my VISTA HOME PREMIUM. They reckon it may me
corrupt this is because when i do a test print from their diagnostic page
nothing prints outs even though it appears in the print queue but then
disappears. Microsoft word 2003 & powerpoint was doing the same.

Brother advised me to go onto your site to download the print spooler, but i
cant seem to locate it. Please could you point me to the correct location or
show me the link i require and what to do with it.

Please get back to me a.s.a.p. Thanks for your assistance in advance.

The Vista operating system has it's own set of groups. You may wish to
post your question there. Or you may try Windows Vista Help feature and
see if SFC (system file checker) will fix your problem.
