Is there a downloadable trial version of Microsoft Publisher?

I have read through quite a few of the posts on here but haven't found a
definitive answer. It seems from browsing the Office Online site that
Microsoft only ship CDs but some people have mentioned a download and it does
seem much more practical (not to mention cheap and quick-i am in the UK) to
be able to download trial versions.

I want to download a trial version ASAP as I have to produce a work
newsletter within a fortnight and the painfully slow IT people where I work
will take 10 days to process purchasing a licence for my office computer. I
would like to work on it from home so I am not left with four days to produce
something on a programme I am not familiar with (i have used Adobe In-Design
before -is it similar/better/worse?)

If anyone knows the answer to this I'd be very grateful (i've never used one
of these groups before but my brother swears by them!) If there are any free
software programmes that I could use at home to design the newsletter and
content then transfer them easily into Publisher, that would be even better.

Many thanks

There is no downloadable trial of Office Professional, only of Office
Standard (which does not include Publisher).

Adobe InDesign is a much more powerful program, but is much more difficult
to learn.

There is no free application from which you can easily transfer into
Publisher.

PagePlus SE is a free DTP application, available from
www.freeserifsoftware.com. The files are (to the best of my knowledge)
compatible with the latest version of Serif PagePlus from www.serif.com

That page does not take you to a downloadable version. It is available on CD only.

Many thanks to everyone who responded for setting me straight! The knowledge
and help on here is really appreciated by software novices!
