Is there a PC version or form of Entourage?

Entoruage is so cool on the MAC having that main page that compiles all
the documents and info related to a project. I assume MS Office for PC
embodies it somewhat, but is there a true PC version of Entoruage
Proper for as lowly Windows people?

Nope. You'll have to pick either Outlook or Outlook Express.

MS Office for PC include Microsoft Outlook as its PIM. However,
Microsoft Outlook for PCs does not include NNTP functionality, as
Entourage 2004 does.

In addition, Microsoft Outlook is MUCH different than Entourage.

Thanks folks. I was afraid of that. Donald, what is NNTP
functionality? I have found similar products (MindJet, etc), but not
quite the same thing.

Since you sound most interested in projects--I'm pretty sure that the
Project function was developed especially for Entourage by the MacBU team
and is a Mac-only feature.

NNTP is newsreader function, e.g. being able to read this group in
Entourage.

I wouldn't class "Outlook Express" as anything like Entourage or MS Outlook

In fact, Outlook Express (both OS 9 and Windows versions) has
absolutely nothing to do with Microsoft Office Entourage (for Mac) and
Microsoft Office Outlook (for Wintels).

The code-base for Outlook Express and for Entourage or Outlook are
completely different. They have absolutely no code in common.

I don't know why Outlook Express (formerly Microsoft Internet Mail and
News) has been equated in people's minds as somehow being a "standard"
(free) version of Outlook or Entourage.

Microsoft Office Outlook (for Wintels) and Microsoft Office Entourage
(for Macs) are both PIMs ("Personal Information Managers") which
happen to have email capabilities (Entourage, Microsoft Office
Outlook), while Entourage additionally has NNTP functionality. They
both have a calendar and to-do list, as well as contact management
functionality.

Microsoft Office Outlook does not have NNTP functionality (unless you
use Microsoft Office Outlook with a Microsoft Enchange Server rather
than as a simple Internet email client and Personal Information
Manager).
