as the subject says, i am wondering if there is an equivalent of pb's
"group sort x" for e.2004?
It works as is in Entourage 2004, no update needed, with a couple of
considerations:
1) If you happen to have more than one address book (i.e. if you have an
Exchange account) don't try it with a group window open. Just close the
group window and select the group in the address book. [Note: you should not
have any groups in Exchange address books; they are only supported by
Entourage in local address book.]
2) If you have any groups as _members_ of the group you're sorting, the
script replaces them in the sorted group by bogus group members of the same
name. That's a bug in the script - same bug in X. I'll update the script to
fix that. In the meantime, just select that bogus name (with a blur dot)
and start re-typing it: the group will appear as an auto-complete. Sp press
return to confirm.
i am using entourage 2004 with OS10.4.6 and cannot use the group sort x
without errors.
It works fine here. What errors? Are you using it on a selected group? If
not, try it that way. If you're using it on all groups, you might have a
faulty group somewhere. Try it on one group at a time, and let me know which
group errored and what might be unusual about it.
perhpas ther is solution to the sort by last name problem within
entourage now, which i am missing... any advice would be welcome
No Entourage still doesn't do it. The email address for me in that script's
ReadMe (very ancient) is defunct. Use the email address you'll find for me
