Is there any way to retrieve lost document content AFTER saving?

HELP!!! This is, admittedly, a last-ditch effort to avoid
retyping two hours worth of stuff, but it's worth a try.

I typed a document, I saved it. Then I cut the info out
of that document and retitled it to be another document.
Sadly, I did not then do a Save-As and rename the
document. Therefore, when I saved it, voila! I had lost
the two hours of work.

Does anyone know if there is any kind of cache in which
old saved version are kept temporarily???

Am I asking the right newsgroup?

Thanks for any assistance!

Very much last ditch, but try switching off your machine without closing
Word or shutting down, restart, start Word. It should recover the last
Autosave version of the document -- depending on timings and other
indeterminants, this *might* pre-date your last save (probably not, but
nothing to lose by trying).

If the document has been closed, there will be no AutoRecovery backups. If
the document is still open, you can retrieve the deleted content using Undo.
Then Save As and use Redo to re-delete the content and make any other
changes made subsequently.

If the document has been closed, then there's still hope if you have
"Automatically create backup copy" enabled on the Save tab of Tools |
Options. Look for the "Backup of <filename>.wbk" file (you'll need to
display All Files to see it), which will be the previous saved version. Open
this and Save As.
