Is there away to delete send later email?

Hi,

I need to delete a message in entourage that is scheduled to be sent
once I turn the program back on. Can I open the program while I am
offline and delete the message in my outbox? Or have I backed myself
into a corner...

Hi Connie!

The safest way of doing this would be to disconnect from your wired
and/or wireless network and then launch Entourage. Either unplug your
network cable or turn off your Airport. Entourage can't send with your
network connection disabled.

Delete the message and then enable your network.

Hope this helps!

Bill is correct. It seems worth observing, however, that if your Send &
Receive All (or any other Send schedule) is set to run infrequently, you
don't really need to disconnect the network -- or even go offline.

For example, the lower right corner of my Entourage main window is telling
me that 'Schedule "Send & Receive All" will run in 24 minutes". I think that
should be enough time to delete the message from my outbox. :)

But if the Send & Receive All schedule is set to run at startup, which
it is by default, then Connie risks not catching the message in time.
Even using the Shift key to disable schedules at startup is risky. :)

Bill, you're right. I was assuming (possibly incorrectly) that Connie runs
Entourage as I do -- I launch it at startup and leave it running all day. In
that case, if I want to delete a message before sending it, the schedule
information in the lower right corner is a good guideline. And I have a
"Send All" schedule set to run when I quit Entourage, so there are never
messages left to send at the next launch.

But if Connie has a message set to be sent later when she quits Entourage,
then it will likely, as you noted, send immediately at launch before she has
a chance to delete it. In that case, disconnecting from the network before
launch will indeed prevent it from sending and let her delete it.

The safe option would be to set Entourage not to send at startup. If
messages have been sitting in the Outbox then it certainly doesn't hurt to
wait until the next schedule, or you can easily send manually.

Good point, Diane. I don't need to do that, because I automatically Send All
when I quit Entourage. (I hate the idea of mail waiting overnight to go
out!) But if I didn't do that, then not doing a send at launch would make
sense.
