It takes 1 minute to appiere

I'm using Office 2000 with WinXP. When launching 'WORD' there is a delay of
approximately 1 minute. During this time it only shows a "busy" cursor and
the program is not visible. After 1 minute it finally appears.

This could be a number of things.
Suggestions include - corrupt printer driver, corrupt normal.dot or add-in
template, interference from the dreadful Norton AV office plug-in, network
issues.
