items being moved to Deleted folder

We are using the latest version of entourage 10.1.4 for exchange and we are
having a very strange problem of entourage automatically moving new unread
emails (most) to the deleted folder. There are no rules governing the IMAP
exchange account and junkmail option is turned off. If entourage is off and
we use the OWA then no problem...so its definitely the local version of
entourage moving things indiscriminently. So what gives?
how could this be happening?

Very odd.

Have you noticed anything that distinguishes the messages that are moved
from the ones that aren't?

Is the Mailing list Manager on in Entourage?

Did this always happen or did it start suddenly?

Does this happen for multiple users? If it is just one user they can try
creating a new identity in Entourage an configuring the account again. If
that gets rid of the problem then it may have been a database corruption in
Entourage, an advanced rebuild of the old identity should clear it up.
