It's really quiet out there!

A few days ago I posted a message but have had no response. This is
my first try. Am I doing something wrong? Perhaps if I restate my
question I can pose the problem more clearly:

Because Entourage quit everytime I tried to open the preferences menu,
I trashed the app and reinstalled it from the original CD.

Now I cannot access the program without the CD. If I try to open the
newly installed Entourage, a dialog blames 'inability to access shared
library files'.

I now realize that the other components of Office X are 10.1.4 while
the newly installed Entourage is only 10.0.0. Is there a way to just
upgrade Entourage or do I need to start from scratch?

If I use 'Remove Office' and reinstall the other components and then
upgrade all to 10.1.5 what else will be discarded. I have a huge file
in autotext (Word) that would be devastating to lose.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks

Remove and re-install Office X. Insert the Office X CD, then open the Value
Pack. Click the Value Pack Installer. Check "Remove Office", then click
"Continue". Run the "Remove Office" utility. When done, re-install Office
X from the CD.

Download and install the latest Office X updates, which are 10.1.2, 10.1.4,
and 10.1.5 (10.1.3 is unnecessary). They¹re available from Microsoft.

Here's a list of files you might want to back up:

I'm having server problems and getting so many multiple newsgroup messages
that it's almost impossible to see the good messages from the spam.
