Jpeg turns into mime when sent MAC to Windows

Jpegs sent from my MAC to a Windows via email arrive as mime files and
are unopenable by the Windows receipient. I thought it was file size
and have had good results with very small files (150-200kb), but now
I'm having trouble with some of the small files too.

Be sure to set preferences to append filenames, in this case, .jpg.

Also look up "attachment encoding" in Help and read the topics relating to
attachments, they are quite good.
